Food Shelter Program
Shelters in inner cities rely on charitable gifts and state intervention for the most at-risk communities living on or below the poverty line. Food is an afterthought and contributes to a continuing downward cycle in this segment’s mental and physical health, adding further pressure to healthcare and other social supports.
The Modgarden Foundation's goal is to empower this segment and provide a self-sustaining solution for shelter programs to grow food year-round. Initiatives will include employment opportunities cultivating pure food using tinyFarm commercial units installed at shelters and social service centers, and will ultimately give at-risk communities access to pure food and empower them with better living.
