Regenerative Zero Compost
The move over the last century from smaller and mostly agrarian societies to dense urban centres with high resource consumption has been ill-designed and not taken regenerative principles into consideration, thereby placing a termination date on our planet.
To support the regeneration of our environment, Modgarden Foundation has developed a method to harness compost waste, treat waste in-situ and export it as a rejuvenate for farms to close the loop on waste regeneration. The method uses natural biological processes and prevents 40-60% of the waste that enters its stream from going to landfills.
Our vision, then, is to transform behaviors of commercial and residential buildings in cities to regenerate compost and redirect it back to rejuvenate farms. By implementing modgarden-led pilots or via partnerships with existing Waste Management service providers, we can demonstrate and scale-up practices that close the loop between high-rise buildings and farms where compost is used to regenerate soil and achieve net-positive impact.
