Soil Research for Health

Soil research takes on two forms to address the web effects of regenerative soil practices which are better for the planet and human nutrition.

First, it analyzes the various merits of regenerative farming versus industrial farming, taking a fact-based approach in examining areas such as nutrition quality, nutrition adoption, toxicity in food, and soil innovation.

Second, soil research looks at urban soils. As urbanization continues to snowball, we want to understand issues such as synthetics in our soil, the consequences of contaminated soils on people's health, how to rid green areas of chemicals, and more.

The paradigm of growing food has changed. As most of the population has moved indoors, urban farming solutions have not kept pace. In fact, they have moved away from upholding the strength and robustness of soil food webs, which are foundational to plant nutrition and growth. Our goal is to reproduce the same natural environment in which agriculture existed prior to the last century in an urban setting (i.e. indoors) in order to provide the most vitality to the plants growing and thus the most vitality to the consumer.
